Esther Hobart Morris Statue - 1960
This statue of Esther Morris was sculpted by Avard T. Fairbanks in 1960, commissioned by the State of Wyoming to be its statuary donation to the National Statuary Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C., in the Nation’s Capitol.
Esther Morris was famous for her part in promoting Women’s Suffrage. Wyoming was the first state to provide Women the Right to Vote. This heroic statue of Esther Morris was created by Avard Fairbanks while serving as Professor of Sculpture and Dean of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Utah.
