Florence Nightingale by Avard T. Fairbanks

The history of Florence Nightingale is well-known.  She served in the Crimean War for Britain and was the originator of nursing as a profession.

A heroic marble carving of Florence Nightingale holding the lamp – “Lady with the Lamp” – was carved in Pietrasanta, Italy, for the University of Utah College of Nursing.  Small models of the Florence Nightingale working model were made, as ceramic castings for nursing students in the past.

Castings of the small model can be made available for purchase in bronze, resin, or cast stone.
