Girl with the Pearl Earring

Fairbanks) – The original is by Johannes Vermeer.  Although the model was never identified, it is believed that this was a painting from life of a household maid by the famous Dutch painter.  The subtleties of tone and depth have been achieved in the copy by over 15 layers of paint.
