Grizzly Bear - 1911
$0.00Price
The youthful Avard T. Fairbanks originally thought he would become an animal sculptor; therefore, he made multiple sculptures of animals in his early years, including a small seated grizzly bear in 1911. He also created a lion in butter for the Utah State Fair, which was not unlike the feat of the youthful Renaissance Italian sculptor, Antonio Canova, who sculpted a lion in butter at a similar age in Italy. His early work of a grizzly bear is highly realistic and typical of his early works.
This small early statue can be made available for purchase, cast in bronze, stone or resin.
