Moon Beam Girl was created in 1933 by Avard T. Fairbanks, Ph.D., while serving as Professor of Sculpture at the University of Michigan. She represents a small child in the Art Deco style holding a stylized crescent moon. It is a companion piece to Sun Boy created in the same year.
