Primavera (New Spring)

Primavera is a standing female human figure representing the Spring Theme.  Primavera means “New Spring.”  This was created in Florence, Italy by Avard T. Fairbanks in 1928, and a life-size marble carving was made. 

It was left in Italy, and when my father went back to Italy after World War II to find it, the marble carving had, unfortunately, been lost.  Efforts to find it have proven futile.  The small working model with its elongated lower extremities, however, has been cast in bronze.  The small bronze casting is available for purchase.
