The Rabbit - 1904
$0.00Price
“The Rabbit” was created by Avard T. Fairbanks in 1904 when he was 7 years of age. This represents his first sculptured work. His eldest brother, Leo, was teaching an art and sculpture class, and his youngest brother, Avard, seeing the work that was being done, exclaimed, “I can do better than that!” His brother, Leo, then took him at his word, provided him the material, and thereupon the youthful Avard made an early sculpture while observing a pet rabbit. The plaster cast of The Rabbit has been preserved over the years.
This historic first sculpture by Avard T. Fairbanks can be made available for purchase in bronze, resin, or cast stone.
