Sego Lily by Avard T. Fairbanks
It was created by Avard T. Fairbanks in 1948 when he was Dean at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Utah. The graceful curved female figure called Sego Lily was one of the few garden figures created by Avard T. Fairbanks during the Utah Period.
The statue features a female figure in a beautiful S-curve holding a floral design from which a spout of water is emitted. The Sego Lily is the State Flower of the State of Utah. Unlike most of his garden and figure studies, this figure is draped. It has a flowing gown lightly draping an anatomically perfect body. The position of the feet give a weightless perception.
It can be made available for purchase in a bronze casting.
