Spirit of the Wind (Zephyr)
This is a graceful figure study of the Art Deco using the human female figure to displays a natural phenomenon. It was created in 1936 during a period of time when the sculptor was creating automobile radiator ornaments for a variety of different cars.
It was never enlarged to life-size. The body purposefully demonstrates some disproportion with a twisting torsion for the visual effect. The statue certainly depicts swift motion of wind. A small bronze casting of Zephyr is available for purchase.
