The Chicago Lincoln - 1956

$0.00Price

The heroic-size statue of Abraham Lincoln dressed as a lawyer with books on a pedestal was created by Avard T. Fairbanks in 1956 for the City of Chicago.  It was cast in bronze and erected on Chicago Square where it stands today.

Fortunately, this statue has not been destroyed nor defaced, like so many historic statues in the United States with the surging radical attempts to rewrite history.

The photograph shows the sculptor, Avard T. Fairbanks, in his studio, demonstrating the statue in the clay to students before it was sent back east to be cast in bronze, before being erected in Chicago.

This artwork is not reproducible, it is not for sale. We are showing this U.S. historical artwork of Avard T. Fairbanks as a gallery exbibit.
