Venus on the Wave

$0.00Price

This is a figure study created in 1978 by the sculptor, again depicting the Venus theme.  Although it deviates from the usual view of the birth of Venus arising out of a giant clam shell; nevertheless, it depicts Venus being transported on a wave, “Born from the Sea,” to the Isle of Cyprus.

This particular work was carved once in marble in Pietrasanta, Italy.  The current location of the marble is unknown.  It is an elegant work of art with a strong sense of motion with the wave form combined with the lazy-S curve and the perfectly-proportioned female figure.

It can be made available in bronze casting, or it can even be recast and sent to Italy, to be – once again – carved in marble.
