Venus on the Wave - Miniature (Venere Sull' Onda)
$8,000.00Price
This is a colored ceramic statuette which depicts Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, riding an ocean wave. According to Ancient Mythology, Aphrodite, or Venus, was born of the sea – usually depicted in the shell of a giant mollusk (clam). In this small sculpture, the shell has been omitted. A single one-third of life-size of this statue was carved in Italian marble.
An original plastic casting exists from which bronze castings can be made, or it can be reproduced in cast stone which has the appearance of marble.
